Screws, fishing lines, neon signs

'The Forest of Oblivion1' is a media installation that deals with the process of forgetting traumas. This work began with an idea that true healing might be the liberation from pain, which was based on my personal experience. The main concept about ‘penetration’ was expressed through numerous hanging nails forming the space for oblivion. Slowly glowing symbols stand for the memory of pain that gradually dims over time, while the light reflected in the surrounding screws represents the willingness to escape from trauma through oblivion.
